S.O.S: First Pink Shoes from Anthology

in as much as i have a penchant,er and addiction to the color pink, i don't own a single pink pair of shoes ( i mean excluding my last SOS which will fall in my category of sneakers) coz i always play safe in my shoe colors -- black, beige, gray and brown. it was a bold move for me when i bought my blue Pilipinas flats from Ichigo and i realized that shoes can give that certain oomph to any outfit without trying hard. thus, the search for my first pink shoes begin.Preview

i wanted the Tory Burch reva flats but they are still too expensive for me. so the search continues. until one night, when G asked me to meet him at Shangri-La so he can shop for clothes for the book launch th next day, we went straight to The Ramp, Crossings. since we're crunching time before the shop closes, we decided to split. (and since it takes him a hour and a half to choose a single clothing) i roamed around The Ramp's shoe section. then the sign was there in front of me. "SALE: 50% Off" on Anthology shoes!!! OMG! i really wanted to own a pair of Anthology shoes eversince i read about it online but i thought it was pricey. so i checked Anthology's rack and i found that the onlyone in my size (for the 50% off) is the Mosaic style in baby pink.

it took me a while to buy it thinking of the possible ensembles i can have judging from my closet. and since i own a number of pink shorts and white shorts, i guess it can work. so i asked for the other pair and tried it on.

actually, i don't think it flatters my feet's complexion since i'm on the morena side...

but WTH! it's 50% for crying out loud. it was priced at Php1,695.00 and now it's only Php847.50!

and it's in my budget (my boyfriend and i had this Sale principle that if it's Sale it must be worth less than a thousand). and to complete the Anthology purchase, i specifically asked for Anthology's own paper bag! and the packaging looks posh as each shoe is in its own plastic then covered with a black paper to match the black box with silver logo.

so another grabbed item from my wish list! yipee! my first ever pink shoes!

Mosaic is one of the older styles of Anthology. It's a patented ballet flats with it's logo spread over the sole.

Performance wise, it's comfy and i can feel that it will last longer the other shoes i bought. and since my feet always get blisters on every break-in of every brand of shoe (imagine my feet having blisters with Crocs!), i only got a little this time. i'm using it twice a week now and until now, it still looks new. it's very suprising considering that i'm a commuter. over all it is so worth it!

i'm just glad that for my first pair of pink shoes i have to get it from a Philippine made and posh shoe-brand (and of course the fact that i got it on Sale): Anthology.

Anthology is located at The Ramp, Crossings, Shangri-La Plaza.

Sakura goes to Pinas

How can i miss this month's Starbucks tumblers?O=)

before the end of February, my friends at Starbucks gave me a sneak peek on what's new on 8March 2011. it was a cherry blossom tumbler with pink lid! OMG! i always wanted  a pink tumbler and when i saw it, i asked thme to reserve one for me! but they told me that the prettier ones are still in the stock room. so i just have to arrive early on 8 March 2011 to  get a first glimpse at them. but i was intrigued so I have been googling on what are the other stuff the  are telling me about.

however, due to some turn of events, i arrived way too early at Starbucks Intramuros and insetad of buying the cherry blossom tumbler, i bought the pink stainless one for Php1095. when i arrived at the office and found out that the tumbler's sold out, i bought the water bottle for Php525 and when i was going home and passed by Starbucks Megamall, i saw they have the cherry blossom tumbler and i bought it as well for Php425 (and surprisingly, they told me i was the first one who bought it!). yes, i completed the collection in just one day, rather, on their release dates! hahaha

and now for my two cents.

the tumblers:
the pink stainless and cherry blossom tumblers can fill in 12 fl. oz drink and in starbucks lingo, a tall sized one. and i was told that both tumblers can fill in cold or hot drinks and that (i suppose) the stainless one can retain the temperature a li'l longer. and from the care card, it says do not fill them with carbonated drinks. i never knew why and this is what yahoo has to say: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20080413140721AA0W94q

honestly, i find the tumblers affordable since some years ago, back from the time they gave a complimentary drink for every tumbler your purchase, a tumbler costs Php 600 for the short sized one.

the water bottle:
the water bottle is uber pretty that's for sure. but i like the old style of their water bottles. well, unfortunately, most water bottles look like the one starbucks used to have so this new style gave the others something to copy again. hehhee

i'm not really comfortable holding it by the handle on the cap thinking it might slip. unlike their old water bottle, i can carry it using just 3 of my fingers. but cuteness wise- this year is the prettiest. i bought the sakura water bottle before and it's still my favorite.
and you can see my first water bottle at the background

it's my 3rd water from starbucks and every pink water bottle must be part of my collection. hehehe

and while Japan is still trying to rise amidst the tragedy, you can place donations on Starbucks counters.

Mega Sale Week

i am but excited much to show off my best buys this week. i thought i'll take shopping a break due to my plans this summer, but as if the universe is conspiring, my best buys for the week are fit for my ensemble this summer.
so without any further adieu, here they are:

Victoria's Secret Swimsuit

my roomie told me that she's selling authentic overruns of Victoria's Secret swimsuits. and i guess she's rubbing too much on me due to more than 3 years of rommie life, i made reservation on a bikini top which was her first choice -- a black and white polka dots bandeau. though this is not the style i had in mind, it's too pretty  to pass and besides i don't have a swimsuit with that style. and when i asked her how much was it, she told me it was just a li'l less than Php1,000.00! whoa! and what surprised me more is that the price is actually for the pair!!! O.M.G.!!!

the style can be seen in the VS site and the tags are cut.

though i know that in a beach the brand of swimsuit does not matter but i used to settle with swimsuits from Kamiseta and Bayo  which cost the same or maybe even higher. so this is my good buy number 1.

Happy Feet Sneakers

Being in the mall every night gives me full access and first hand notices of sales in Megamall. I have been waiting for the sale at Megatrade Hall for SOS goodies are not hard to find -- well it is but for a shopaholicvixen, no store is too crowded when they are on sale. last year, i got a pair of Kickers for Php700.00 when it used to be Php3,000.00 and i bought another pair for my boyfriend which was priced at Php900.00 from its (better yet SLASHED!)  Php4000.00 price tag. and i was able to score some pair of Crocs for only Php500.00. So when i saw the "sign", i ate my brunch and at lunchtime i went to Megamall with Dennis and searched for good finds.

This year at Megatrade Hall was less appealing to me than last year. In this year's Shoes & Bags sale, brands like So Fab, Converse, Crocs, Nike, Gola,  and some department store brands fill the hall. Due to Anton's principle that it will not be on sale if it is still Php1,000.00, i had a hard time buying since the good stuff sells for Php1,000.00 plus plus! I wanted a Gola bag but at 50%  off it still costs Php 1,750.00s  and Crocs still costs Php1,500.00 and i thought i was losing hope that i will buy anything from this sale. until the Happy Feet stall caught my attention and saw a pair of fuschia pink sneakers!

the one on display is size 35 which is my shoe size. so i asked for the pair and tried it on. it is comfortable perhaps due to its triple layer of comfort.

and i never knew that Happy Feet branched out from its usual bakya. I owned one bakya and took advantage of their Buy One Take One Strap sale before. but since we had a Dress code in school, my Happy
Feet are in their box with the straps.

it's pink so i'm sold at first sight. Happy Feet is proudly Philippine made and according to its tag, i can walk the right way and have the benefits by using Happy Feet.

the sticker says its Php1,499.00

but judging from the same style they are sold for Php499.00 only -- perfectly within my budget! yahoo!

it didn't have any box though but the plastic looks nice though. so i'm glad i bought something when i skipped lunch.

and what about Dennis? he found a Nike laptop bag which costs Php1,000.00 and a pair of Gola high-cut sneakers for Php1,000.00 and since he used his credit card he got a box of Brownies too.

i can't wait to wear my swimsuit so i'm starting my no/less rice policy until my birthday. I do have a very hot swimsuit but i do not have the hot body to wear it. and for my shoes, it can be a good substitute as i give my Tom's some rest.

So til another next sale season!

POSH feet

one thing i wished i were also is that i'm also a shoe-a-holic. i never tried experimenting on shoes -- styles, colors -- i'm done with the basics and since i'm a commuter, i invest more on flipflops. i don't want my legs to suffer due to my pauper lifestyle. hehehe thus, a pair of slippers is a must-have in my bag. but i must admit, elegance and poised are both suffering from this convenience theory. so i decided to invest on flats before i invest again on a good bag.

i'm eyeing on pocket shoes for sometime now since i badly need it after appearances. i will change in a cab before going to court and will change back in the washroom after the hearing. good thing that POSH pocketshoes announced that they are having a sale and sale seasons to me are love at first sight. i bought a pliage in red for only Php549 plus shipping and have it delivered in my footstep.

but first what is POSH? it's a pocket shoe meaning shoes that can fit it your pocket -- literally. but unlike some other shoes that can fit in your pocket, POSH can be used not merely as an immediate substitute from your stilettos but it can be worn even the whole day.

as a substitute, the pouch can transform into a bag to place your stilettos and while on a break, the shoes can be folded and placed in the same pouch. cool right?

before, i bought me and my friends some "pocket shoes" for Php250. unlike POSH that can be folded, the pocket shoes that i bought are rolled. and the sole of POSH can enable you to walk almost everywhere comfortably like any other shoe (unlike others where you can feel the pebbles you're stepping on!). my only problem though is that after using it, i had to clean the sole first before i put it back in the pouch. well, that's me.

performance wise, i got a blister when i first used it. well, it's my feet to blame who are used to flipflops that  friction from any kind of footwear will leave it reddish. (i even got blisters in TOMS and Crocs, FYI) but after the first trek, it's a comfortable walking experience.

i recommend poshies to every one who dares to be in style everytime and have a comfortable walking experience without suffering style, elegance and budget.our feet deserve to be POSH too.O=)

Bag "the" Bag at Benetton

i'm a certified bagaholic and not a brand hag at that.i can settle for a bag from Egg if i liked the bag and splurge for a LE longchamp if i really want to. and in both instances, i want my bags to always look new and clean and will buy a dust bag if necessary. but i'll be at my happiest if i found a good bag with a good brand with a very good price.

as i've said in my previous post, today is my favorite season. and since my friend G has been checking the racks for longsleeves, we went inside United Colors of Benetton upon seeing the SALE sign. while G's busy in the fitting room, i'm checking the bags. the good lady approached me and told me that the bag's are currently 50% off. i wanted to buy the shoulder bag in blue but since i'm almost always at a hearing, i need a bigger bag to fill my in my folder, slippers, my planner and my what's-in-my-bag stuff.

it took a while to choose what color to buy: the lilac or the hot pink one. the hot pink is screaming Legally Blonde that i was so tempted to buy it. but i realized thereafter that my bags are mostly in the pink shade so i chose the lilac one.

it's made from faux leather and not really prone to dirt despite the color. and when it gets dirty i can just use a damp cloth to clean it instead of a wipeout. lol

the chain links as handle give the oomph to the bag, however, i find it difficult to put it on my shoulder since they are li'l heavy.

the bag is roomy which can store my book, my kikay kit, my humongous wallet, my iTouch, my phone and etcetera.

i love the fact that it has a dust bag but since this is the kind of leather which cracks after some time, it's better that you let it out and use it sometime and not just keep it in storage. i had to learn this the hard way in the MNG bag my boyfriend gave me as a monthsary present.

it's originally pegged at Php3,500.00 and now that it's 50% off, i got it only for Php 1,750.00. so for me it's a good deal but not yet SOS-worthy.

while G went home with a top he bought on sale in a plastic that's screaming SALE, i went home with this bag in a nice paper bag. another night in paradise.

United Colors of Benetton is located at 2nd level, Bldg B, SM Megamall

Lovin' the Bodyshop

to start my blog from my long hiatus, i'll start my blog with my best SOS (shopped.on.sale.) so far. since my way home entails passing in SM Megamall, i got to see that what's hot and the what's not during my favorite -- sale season. and indeed, the best time to buy stuff is after christmas since everything is on sale.

though i always get to see the Sale sign in The Body Shop lately, i never tried to check it since i bought my MAC studio fix last month and i have enough palettes to fill my make-up stash. but seeing the 70% off sign was simply irresistible.

and this is what i found in the 70% box -- a make-up brush set! this was released last december 2010 for the holiday season but it costs Php2,498.00.

and with the 70% off tag, it now costs only Php748.50!

when i bought my last make-up brushes from the Bodyshop (which is just 1/3 of the size of these brushes) it cost me Php1,200.00.  so how can i not buy this one? and according to my make-up guru/roomie unapologeticmakeupjunkie the brushes are good so it's definitely a steal.

the set includes a blusher, brow & lash comb, smudger, eyeshadow and lip/concealer in a sleek black pouch with flaps for protection.

i renewed my LYB card as well for Php100 and i'm surprised that they still put a stamp on my voucher even if my last purchase was like a couple of years ago! and as a renewal gift, they gave me the LYB Beauty Book for Free!

it's actually a discount book with some reviews of their bestsellers. i'm eyeing on the seaweed clarifying toner which my cousin told me for her is the best line in the Bodyshop.

i'm just happy that i have a beauty to boast about -- NARS bridal palette, MAC studio Fix and these make up brushes! just a good mascara and my set is complete and i'm all set to walk down the ...O=)

The Bodyshop is located at UGF, Megamall

i. am. m.i.a.

where have i been these past four (4) months? i've been MIA since once upon a time and just decided to leave a note here to tell you that I AM back. i was busy with work that i can only post micro-blog to tell the whole world wide web of my latest Best-Buys and S.O.S. aside from twitter, i used my tumblr account to post photos of my good finds not merely to boast my otherwise good photography skills using my point-and-shoot camera, but also as a reminder of the pending posts/reviews/blogs for this site. and while i'm on my way home, the Notes in my iPod Touch is my newest blogger.

work kept me busy most of the times and dinner/lunch & food trips with my officemates filled most of my precious times. and if i posted all my reviews of the food trips we've had, my shopping blog would turn to be a foodie blog already! i'm very lucky to have officemates/friends who have the same trippings as i do.

but i shopped as well. but most of the things i shopped for are my outfits for my office that i'm yet to blog about since i may have fellow shopaholics who will know about my secret supplier. i guess i'm invoking my right to privacy in correspondence in this matter. but to jumpstart the year (at least the chinese calendar that is) i have the following to blog about:

1. My 3 planners plus 1 Pink plotter
2. my canvas espadrilles which comes with a review of the store where i bought it
3. my bags which i really love
4. cutesy pocket shoes-ies
5. ton of books! (which i'm currently addicted to)
6. a new discount card
7. a "green" pencil
8. a revert back to my old favorite cosmetic brand
9.make-up brushes
10.  and some food blogs, hehehe

i'll try to make them over the weekend but you can take a sneak peak in my tumblr account.
until then, i have to scout the shops this SALE season.
